As a student, first you will need to register an account and verify your email.
Next you can search for teachers that meet your criteria such as which language you are studying
and language learning level.
When you find a teacher you like, you will need to subscribe before you can send a request to
the teacher for a proposal.
After your subscription is funded, your request will be sent to your teacher for their review
and approval.
If the teacher accepts you as a student, they will send you a proposal that will include
proposed study plan and cost per lesson as well as how the teacher accepts payment for lessons.
You will then be able to accept the teacher's proposal or look for a different teacher.
Your teacher will let you know their payment terms, so please respect their proposal and meet
their terms.
If you have a positive experience with your teacher, you should rate them on the app to let
other students know.
You can search for a teacher for multiple students in the same household. That is, if you are a
parent, you can use a single subscription to search for a teacher for all of your children.
Teachers
As a teacher, you will need to register your account first.
After you successfully register your account, you will need to provide basic information
regarding your credentials for teaching the language you have signed up for.
After you submit your credentials, one of our staff will review and manually approve your
account for teaching the language you have requested.
Once your account has been approved for your requested language, you will need to provide
additional details such as your availability, preferred payment method, rates per lesson/hr, and
details on recommended lesson details such as length.
You will also need to create your profile to help you stand out from all the other teachers on
the site.
One important part of your profile will be your lesson plan and materials. This will help
students understand how you teach and what to expect when they are learning from you.
After you create your profile, students will be able to search and request a learning proposal
from you.
When a student requests a proposal from you, you will receive basic information about the
student and their requested learning schedule. You will not receive any personally identifiable
information until after the student accepts your proposal in order to protect the identity of
both you and the student.
After the student accepts your proposal, the student will be provided with your preferred
contact information that you created in your profle and they will contact you outside of Find My
Teacher.
General
Find My Teacher is currently focused on connecting language learners and teachers in Vietnam.
There are several reasons for this, primary among these reasons are issues with international
payments. We want to create a community in Vietnam where we know students and teachers can
easily pay each other without Find My Teacher being involved. Additionally, our experience has
been that students and teachers in Vietnam know and are comfortable with local payment methods.
Find My Teacher does not get involved in the payments between students and teachers. The
teachers will provide their preferred payment options and students can search and select
teachers based on the payment preferences of the student. Students and teachers will be
responsible for ensuring payments are made according to plan.
Why don't we want to get involved in the payments? For several reasons, including labor laws,
bank and finance laws and other regulations. Find My Teacher wants to provide the place for
students and teachers to connect and for now that is the limit of what we want to do.
After we launch and as we build our community of teachers and students, we will evaluate our
service to determine what other components might be valuable while working with our teacher and
student communities in order to enhance the value of the service.
